The Ontological argument for the existence of God (and the definition of God) goes as follows.
1. God is that entity than which nothing greater can be conceived.
2. It is greater to be necessary than not.
3. God must be necessary.
4. God necessarily exists.

2. Necessary-ness (?) is not an actual quality to start with. It is more sensible to claim a being is necessary because of some of its other qualities. God could be necessary if it was the force that made me my morning coffee. But there is no evidence to claim such a thing. Stating that a necessary being is necessary because it is necessary is just bullshit.
Neither is necessary-ness greater than not-necessary-ness in it self because you can not compare an existent trait to a non-existent trait.
